Wiccan Samhain Eve Samhain Coming Soon! While most of us know Halloween as Samhain, what is truly Wiccan Sabbath? What are the best ways to celebrate the Sabbath? What should be the property of Samhain? Why is so totally cool Samhain? Read on, gentle reader :-) Samhain is usually pronounced "Sow'an" and is from the Celtic "Samhuinn" which means "Summer's End." This is one of the gates of Celtic years - the light and dark, Beltane is the "light". It is the last harvest of the year, and thanks for the year bounty. Many believe that Samhain and Beltane are two times a year, when the "veil" between the visible and invisible, in its thin. This is the magical moment when the laws of space and time are lifted, and you can communicate with the dear departed. On the night of Samhain (October 31) People often one light candles in their windows for their loved ones at home, and a section on the Lord's Supper for them.Samhain is also the time when the Crone and her age, consort honored, this is a time for Dark Magic (not "bad", so dark), and in honor of the dark secrets. Remember that without darkness there can be Light. So, What should you do for your Samhain ritual? Before you gather the things you think are emblematic of Samhain. Pumpkins and other gourds, apples, or even pointed hats besoms articles are useful to set the mood. If you have the friendship of a black cat, ask them to you.Next, gather the herbs, the special Samhain Saturday. Not all the herbs associated with Samhain are easily accessible, and at least one to prepare in advance (as in the mandrake soak for two weeks or more before breaking right to use). The herbs, which I personally use mugwort, the mother must, broom flower, belladonna (also known as deadly Nightshade), Mandrake (European mandrake, American mandrake plant is not completely different than for other things), and White Sage. Use these herbs to bu, as an offer to my matron Crone Goddess, and as incense. Also on the altar, the stones of Samhain, which are black (see picture), but most of all jet and obsidian . I personally use hematite, because here is not so grounded. I like the hematite then if I based my energies.Candle colors that are not strictly necessary, it can be very important to establish the mood. As you probably have guessed, orange and black are the main colors of Samhain candles. It can also be used for the goddess of silver and gold for God, the candles on the altar, if desire.Once all, express your circle as you choose, your neighborhood, if it is part of your practice, and perform your ritual.
