Reflections on 1 Peter 5 Peter makes his first letter to a close with specific targeting especially the elderly, then the young men and, finally, to all Christian believers. For the elderly who encourages them to serve as a people. This should not happen, because a sense of obligation but because they are willing, that is what God wants. As often happens in Scripture, God sees the heart, and it is important that we have the right attitude godly motivate us. Peter glorified not do it for money, but because they are eager to serve. As the different approach and attitude is what we have in the world. It 'the same attitude that Jesus was the one who to serve and not be used. The next group, Peter is addressed to young men. It instructed the youth to be obedient to those who are older than I am. Sometimes young people think they know everything and do not need advice. But here, as for the elderly, Peter gives them instructions on how the world works. Closely associated with humility is not obedient, Peter moves on "Next." The Apostle says, they should dress with humility. In this should be an attitude that all believers should be for one another. And the reason is that it gives 11 V from Proverbs 31: "God against the pride, but the grace of humility." We all need the grace of God in our lives and humility should be a setting that we consider wish. I wonder how many church shares could have been avoided if we need more of this quality in our churches? Peter reminds his readers that if they are willing to humble themselves, then in times of God, a blessing from above will be revoked. If you sow the seeds of humility, you will reap the benefits. One of the advantages is that we cast all our anxieties, conces and care to God, because we can be sure that he loves us. And if we did, that the weight of these changes to us at what God promised! Unfortunately, it's so easy to give to God, and take it again the next day! I expect that we all have done on many occasions. We need to lea the liberating joy of God with them, once and for all, and then on. As Peter closes this letter, he reminds his readers of spiritual attack that can expect from the devil. You will be asked to be ready and vigilant and self-control. Although we can not avoid the risk of attacks by the devil, Peter exhorts us to stand firmly in our faith. He said that readers around the world all their brothers and sisters in this battle. For many of them, that would mean prison or death. Most of us are not likely to face, but many of the early church was. In fact, in some countries today, the believers are in progress with this, and we must and should be in prayer. Peter then reminds his readers that God gives them the grace to be strong. We may stumble, slip or fall, but in the grace of God there will be until the end.
